Default JWT PopCharger or Nismo Intake?

ive got a popcharger, and i like the sound it produced over the stock air box, i especially like the subtle whistle sound it makes when you shift.

how does the Nismo intake compare? will i get the same or better agressive sound at high rpms as with the popcharger?

Assuming your talking abotu the CAI version, the whistle sound and roar at WOT will be less considering that your air filter is down in your bumper. I convert my Injen from CAI to short ram once a year for the rainy season and it sounds much better as short ram. Stick with your pop charger you do not have anything to gain from switching.

^ +1 on sticking to your pop charger. Waste of money if you move to the Nismo

thanks for the input guys, this thread has saved me lots of money from impulse buys.

i had just kinda gotten tired of looking at the popcharger, i thought the nismo cai would provide some engine dress-up.

ill take this money and keep saving up for wheels.

ok well let me throw in my 2 cents. I just had a bad mishap with my transmission and sum other stuff and my intake came into play. The service manager at a Nissan car dealership told me that the intake i have(Popcharger)is bad for the car when it comes to warranty. He said that if water was 2 get into it it would go straight to motor and lock up. So I said r yall just trying to sell nismo and blah blah and he said with the nismo u have the bypass valve so it protects u and when they call 4 u for a warranty claim they ask questions like what kind of performance if any do they have. So having the Nismo which I did before was a ok intake but the popcharger under WOT on a stock exhaust is LOUD!! But When u have a exhaust combo loke I do i dont hear it anymore but people always ask me if im supercharged bc od the whistle. Good Luck hope this was helpful info!

To post above. Let me say this, if your Pop Charger gets enough water in it to hydrolock your engine then your *** must been sitting in a lake. Your entire engine compartment would have to be submerged for this to happen... The nismo bypass valve is a replicated version of the AEM bypass valve, which i must say does work fairly well.

#2 Dont listen to ANYTHING they have to say about modding unless it is the mechanic working on your Z and they have a modded Z also. They are a bunch of player hating *********.

+1 I know what ur saying they dont know jack abot Zs. However when its up to them and Nissan North America to cover stuff under warranty they want to see Nismo. all I was saying. Ip retty sure it would be impossible to hydrolock a popcharger.

I know you guys are comparing the Nismo CAI to the popcharger. What about going from another type of CAI like the K&N to a PopCharger? Is it worth it? Will there be any increase in performance or will it just sound better?

Dyno proven that the best thing is a K & N drop in filter. But with a typhoon CAI dyno proven loss of a couple HP

+2. Guy sounds like a robotic idiot programmed to spew complete and utter BS. Like said, if your in enough water to flood your Popcharger, you've got some other SERIOUS issues, lol.

Yeah, I had a feeling of his as well. It uses the same bypass valve and filter. My AEM CAI came with the AEM hardware and all but also a Nismo filter. I ordered a Nismo CAI but intensepower screwed up my order 50000 times. You can get the Nismo CAI though for only 20 bux more than the AEM one, so if you are going the CAI route, might as well just get something that looks nicer and says Nismo on it.

i have the nismo and love every dollar I spent on it, minus the fact i'm going forced induction and won't be needing but would buy it all over again. The peace of mind knowing if anything came up and I needed warranty work I could take it to any nissan and they wouldn't be able to say a damn word. and looks much better
