PopCharger Filter Fell Off!!!!
I know I am going to get flamed mercilessly for this (and I probably deserve it)
I did a run from a stoplight up a steep hill near my house. In second gear when I got to about 5k ut just freakin laid down!!! Not fuel cut but just a huge loss of tourqe.
Now I probably should have popped the hood at this point but instead I took it out the next morning. Did a couple of flat road sprints but overall drove it gently because I had a battery in teh hatch for half the trip. Only thing odd was that it stalled once at speed when I put in the clutch. Oh and I noticed when scrolling through the computer to check the outside temp that my fuel econ was 5MPG.
So today I pop the hood to install a spacer and OMG the cone filter is just laying there! I am sooooo freakin lucky I didn't aspirate something nasty.
The only reason I am posting this is so that maybe someone will learn from my mistake.

I just installed mine a couple weeks ago, and this made me go outside and check that my filter is on there tight. That definitely could have ended in a bad way, but I'm glad nothing happened to your engine.
Thanks.
I am going to add "check if the filter is loose" to my list of things I do when I pop the hood.
I may add "pop the hood, dumb-a$$" to my list of things to do more often.
Fotunately it hasn't been very dry or hot here. So the air is pretty clean. I also try not to drive the Z in foul weather. But I know there are guys with Pop chargers on daily drivers.

I wouldn't lose any any sleep over this one . When you clean it , just make sure you have it on tight enough .Have had one on my 2003 from the get go - never happened and won't if you tighten it correctly after cleaning it .Only thing I can think that would cause something like this is a defective clamp for some reason ( make sure it's not stripped or not catching somehow when tightening ) .Just had one more thought . Make sure when you reinstall the venturi ( cone filter ) that you put it flush to the back of the popcharger where it sits so that if you were to run your hand around the back of the venturi , everything would be flush or even and no part of the cone would be uneven to where it mounts .
