Default How often should your filter be changed? & a question..

I've had my Z for maybe 4 months now, somewhere around there, & since I picked her up, I havnt had my filter changed, been to the nissan dealership for checkups, oil change etc.. & they have never changed the filter. I also think the filter that I have is the factory one, I'm not smarted up on filters but it's a "flat red" kind.. lol

The question, would a "good" filter add any hp or torque? I'm sure it's been asked but I figured I'de just throw it in there..

I hope you're talking about the air filter. If you're saying they never changed the oil filter then someone should be shot at your dealer.

An OEM air filter is just about as good as any other filter. People have taken the filters out on the dyno and not gained any HP.

The OEM air filter costs about $7 and can be changed yourself without any tools in about 30 seconds. If it looks dirty get another one.

i didnt wanna get into that cause its none of my business what they do to their cars. If you wanna get a new filter that you can clean and reuse then get a k&n im sure if you searched more then 300 people on here say youw ill gain a few hp's. If you do you do if you dont you have a filter taht will last longer then your car who cares.
