Default Anyone running resonated test pipes on STOCK exhaust?

I currently have a set of resonated test pipes on an aftermarket y-pipe and catback and have rasp like hell.

Wondering if anyone out there with stock exhaust and JUST resonated test pipes??? Do you still get rasp either way you go?

Thinking about putting back on stock exhaust and leaving the test pipes on but if it won't help the rasp then I will just leave it.

yea i had it for about 8 months....i liked it at first becasue it adds a little to the stock sound..but they rattle like hell...testpipes sound horrible....my best advice to you is dont do it wait for a catback exhaust...i wasted alot of money on testpipes......just stay stock .....believe me

I've had resonated test pipes with both stock exhaust and the aftermarket exhaust. Either way, you will always have that raspy rattly sound. You could try getting high flow cats, but I hear you'll still have a little bit of that rasp.

Not many setups dont have rasp. If you take out your stock cats, and replace them with high flow cats or TP's, its probably gonna rasp.

On that note, I have Kinetix TP's and dont mind them at all.

I have a set of X02 resinated TP's with Megan Y pipe and love it. Very little rasp , actually the sound of the Kinitic V+ overpowers it all. The sound is great, just slightly louder than stock and the power is great.

With resonated test pipes... Ignore the smoke, whole other problem.

With full exhaust.

that set up sounds horrible above. All that hissing and what not. I'm running 2.5 non resonating and it sounds fantastic. Pm me if you need a sound clip. I get no hissing, rattling or whatever other test pipes give you.

Problem that I am having is that I have a full exhaust setup with resonated test pipes and y-pipe and catback but the problem is a whizzing sound inside of the long section of the y-pipe itself. I was wondering iff I can put the stock y-pipe on with the resonated test pipes and leave the catback on as well. It would obviously be smaller pipeing with the y-pipe being in the middle but want to desperately get rid of that nasty sound the y-pipe is making.

So if some of you are using test pipes on stock exhaust I would think mine would sound pretty much like that as my catback almost makes no extra sound above the stock exhaust sound.

I think yours sounds awesome! The raspy whistle is what I get on your video of the stock exhaust with test pipes.... thats what I WANT to get rid of!

Doesn't even sound like you have rasp at all on the video with the catback on it!

By the way, I took the test pipes off. The 2nd video is with stock cats and Injen exhaust.
