Default First mod, need your help on decision

hello guys,

i have been lurking around for a year, yes i know why didn't i join and post. well, i was lurking to find answers but since i couldn't decide it myself. So i signed up to ask you guys.

You see, lately i feel that my 06 MG Z engine power have a "choked" feeling to it. I have automatic with triptonic system. Whenever i am driving on "D". i tried to speed up and feels like the engine is being choked meaning, it feels like there is more power waiting to be released, more like being muffled.

so i put it on 3rd gear in triptonic and it releases lots of power and i quickly gained speed.

I am thinking to get CAI as it will provide more intake and hopefully better performance.

I am not that well-informed about the details that it involves getting CAI/popcharger.

Can you please kindly help me and give me some good suggestion about CAI or any other alternative modification?

Since this is my first mod, i want to restrict to a mild modification but nothing too expensive or drastic.

thank you so much!

best off saving your money. These cars are setup decently from the factory. Unless you invest in FI, forget about really feeling anything to justify the money/effort.

Doesn't help that you have the auto - my suggestion would be a set of test pipes, suspension work, and wheels/tires. Other than that, a pop charger will net you VERY little, the plenum maybe a bit more. You are talking hundreds, if not $3K+ for parts (plenums, headers, exhaust, etc) that you net you 20 hp...20hp being optimistic

FYI, Looking at your car with the intention of modifying it can void your warranty at some dealers. Warranty issues are case by case.
