Dont mess with success!
The z is well known as a car that sports dual exhaust tips from factory.. me myself think of the z as some what of an upperclass car. Now I happen to really like the JDM scene and want to throw on a single muffler and do the bumper mod. I know its in preference but do you guys think that taking away the dual tip muffler and throwin on a single is in some ways not right by means of it takes that "upperclass" somewhat out of the picture? let me know what you guys think before I do something drastic
it's not going to be that bad, if you fill in the bumper cut out for the original tip. if you don't want to ruin the look of the rear, there's plenty of other bolt on mods you can do w/o touching the exhaust
Just how a single exhaust became a JDM thing?
In Japan z comes with the same exhaust as it does here.
If you like the way it would look go for it, but pls, don’t think that it’s “ JDM Yo! “

ahh thank you those were the words im looking for.. maybe it would be more plausible if I had said early on its pretty upper-class for a 17 year old out of high school.

Well some consider the Z to be a more "moderate-high-end" Japanese sportscar, aside from the NSX, Supra(new) and GTR and when you move out of the 30k range.
Cost of modding, maintenance, and practicality does make it a "big boy" car in the Japanese market. no doubt. I wouldn't call it "upperclass" though. That's more of a thing with status and namebrands.
As far as the muffler thing goes. Twin mufflers doesn't really move a car from one class to another. It just indicates motor/piping layout. Hell, you see twin pipes in a V6 Honda Accord, single pipes in a Supra or GTR straight-six. It has nothing to do with class.
If you want a single muffler on the Z to shave weight, money savings, hp gains etc... then do it. Who cares about "class", it's still a Z.

i agree with everyone i personally like the look of dual tips better think like yous aid makes it look all around better. But if you like the single then by all means dont let somebody else make your decision just do it

i have never seen a single exhaust installed that i have liked the looks of. I think not having the dual dramatically takes away from the overall appearance of the car. I personally would never even consider it, but hey it's not my car.
I have a JIC single. I thought of the potential for a ``ricey`` rear view, but once it was on I thought, ``Looks good!``. IMO the big single tip goes with the car`s ample a$$.
