Default Dont mess with success!

The z is well known as a car that sports dual exhaust tips from factory.. me myself think of the z as some what of an upperclass car. Now I happen to really like the JDM scene and want to throw on a single muffler and do the bumper mod. I know its in preference but do you guys think that taking away the dual tip muffler and throwin on a single is in some ways not right by means of it takes that "upperclass" somewhat out of the picture? let me know what you guys think before I do something drastic

it's not going to be that bad, if you fill in the bumper cut out for the original tip. if you don't want to ruin the look of the rear, there's plenty of other bolt on mods you can do w/o touching the exhaust

If the 350Z had single exhaust, members would want dual.

Just how a single exhaust became a JDM thing?

In Japan z comes with the same exhaust as it does here.

If you like the way it would look go for it, but pls, don’t think that it’s “ JDM Yo! “

I don't know about "upperclass", but I like that the dual tips make the rear look symmetrical, clean and balanced.

If you think the Z is upper-class, and/or a single exhaust tip is jdm-mad-tyte-yo.... please do something drastic. Kill yourself.

What'd you own before that would make you think the Z would be upper class? You must be from Santa Ana of So*Cal lol.

Upper-class meaning the "executive" look/lifestyle?

Well some consider the Z to be a more "moderate-high-end" Japanese sportscar, aside from the NSX, Supra(new) and GTR and when you move out of the 30k range.

Cost of modding, maintenance, and practicality does make it a "big boy" car in the Japanese market. no doubt. I wouldn't call it "upperclass" though. That's more of a thing with status and namebrands.

As far as the muffler thing goes. Twin mufflers doesn't really move a car from one class to another. It just indicates motor/piping layout. Hell, you see twin pipes in a V6 Honda Accord, single pipes in a Supra or GTR straight-six. It has nothing to do with class.

If you want a single muffler on the Z to shave weight, money savings, hp gains etc... then do it. Who cares about "class", it's still a Z.

I personally prefer dual exhaust tip setup on the Z, but the single exhaust/diffuser setup on MCR Z33 is HOT.

i have never seen a single exhaust installed that i have liked the looks of. I think not having the dual dramatically takes away from the overall appearance of the car. I personally would never even consider it, but hey it's not my car.

Default look of it

I have a JIC single. I thought of the potential for a ``ricey`` rear view, but once it was on I thought, ``Looks good!``. IMO the big single tip goes with the car`s ample a$$.

Cliffs Notes: Do what you want, forget what the crowd says.
