Cutting Aem Intake
So ive been reading up on the intake that i already swapped for my stock air box and some extra cash. Everyone says it performes worse then my stock air box. I had a thought and what if i cut the intake tube short(kinda like the pop charger) and just put the K&N air filter on it??? Might be a horrible idea. Also when i drive in heavy rain i cant go WOT bc i pick up water.... Any feed back would be greatly appreciated....
i had pop charger and went back to stock. i ordered amsoil air filter which i read from here. i just gave it a try instead of k&n. theres no hissing or any other intake sound. power wise it feels better then stock filter. if ur going to make it into short ram then just add k&n filter to stock. you also can use stock in summer and change back to short ram when it gets cold. intake doesnt give crazy power.
I had the AEM cai, and i just took the lower pipe off to make it short ram. I like it more it, keeps the sound which I like, and keeps the water out. I had a problem with it sucking water up cause the AEM had a dryflow filter. I had a K&N filter with the cold air and it was much better in the rain, but I had a bad experience on the highway with a lot of water and scared ****less that I was gonna suck up water. So now I have it as short ram and am waiting for TITEK to make some more intake vents.
