Stillen and JWT are the only intakes that show a good overall gain on the car. This car. But the gain at the most is 5 hp and its mostly through the powerband and not peak hp.

Very simple answer. Noise emissions. That's why every new car has some form of air silencer on the intake. Most cars pick some power from removing them.

Well since we have been modding 350Z's since they came out in 2002 August to be exact...We found that 90% of the cold air intake mods make VERY LITTLE or loose HP compared to the stock intake box with a K&N filter. The air box probably has a few dozen hours of R&D into it like the rest of the parts from the factory. Going to town with a hole saw, is not going to make power...If anyone has a stock 350Z they would like to do before and after dyno's on, come by my shop.
As far as the exhaust, it most likely netted you about 4 HP since the stock resonator is straight through and not restrictive.

I wish I was in NJ. I still think the roll on comparison with stock car would give us a clear indication if the mods worked. Right?

All I have to say to the OP is:

if you really think what you're doing is helping, then put it up before and after on a dyno and let's see for real.

True enthusiasts will go for the before & after dyno to benefit the community, instead of spewing "ricer wisdom" and assuring everyone that the "butt dyno feels better"

This is my first ricer I trying to mod! LOL

I wish to be a true Enthusiast someday. Hey, if I bought the Enthusiast model instead of the base - would that have helped?

If the stock one pulls on my car with mods then I'm totally wrong. Anyone have an 07 around S. Florida that would like to volunteer? We can drink beers and eat wings after.
Street racing is grounds for banishment from this site.

The ONLY true way to test power is at the dragstrip. Trap speeds tell all.

And dyno runs don't? I've seen ~10whp/wtq variances from the same car, same dyno, same day. So your "free mods" might show a 3whp/wtq gain one run, but might not show **** at all on another.

LMAO... now this guy's an e-thug. LOL... and this statement is coming from the clown sending stupid high-school drame queen PMs to people.

Wipe that sand out your puss... don't be butt-hurt that people who got a clue what they're talking about called you out on this. You don't buy a ~$30k car to hack it up and cut corners while modding. If you want to ***** about how expensive it is to mod, then get a Civic or some **** where you can buy most of your mods from your local Autozone.

If you are truely serious in thinking you made enough power from doing this and that it's worth it to people to hack up their Z's, then PROVE this makes power over stock. Put up or STFU.

Mods may as well go ahead and close this thread... I don't see it going anywhere.

OP, start a new one when you prove something.

[ninja edit]LMAO at me getting banned... on what grounds? All I did was tell you to prove it. Maybe I should just start telling people the sky is red and expect them to believe me, then get pissy when someone disagrees.[/ninja edit]

everyone chill, I don't see this thread going anywhere but down

now, for novelty's sake and DIYers' interest, I want to leave this thread open.

You can post your opinions, but there is no need for personal attacks etc.
