Also, now you're ingesting hot engine air too.
OP, Also, here is what we want to see: a before and after dyno. Here's mine after a cheap home-made mod that I did (it is a lot like MREV2).

Being a Ford man in the past I always appreciated the free or relatively cheap mods. Parts for these cars are way high compared to our domestic counterparts. Cost per hp is relatively low. 3.90 gears will definetely make a big difference in getting the car into the powerband faster. This is my next mod when I got a grand laying around.

If you bought a Z with the intention to mod it in any way you should have realized it wouldn't be cheap.
IMO it's better to save up and do quality mods the first go around. I am in the same position with my 07 Z. But instead of doing CHEAP why not shoot for Quality, It's worth the money and the wait IMO.
With all that said it's your ride man and if you believe in what your doing then keep it up. Remember most inovators make mistakes and sometimes they actually stumble across something that works great. If you believe it works then cheers to you.
Cheers

IMHO, I know about free mods even on the LS1 TransAm. They worked. But on this car its already tuned very good. The stock intakes act like RAM air. The best thing you can do is route a pipe from the grill area up to the intake hole to give it more air, the way your doing it is just plain wrong. Your making your intake get hot air now, more turbulent air, and you probably did not gain anything from this mod except noise. I can see the exhaust mod helping some though.

Yeah, why don't you tell Stillen, Fujita, AEM, and Nismo that opening up the air intake does not work. None of them are pulling air strickly from the front bumper? "Plain wrong"

So with your great reasoning aftermarket intakes and exhaust should be a total waste of money. Maybe 5 to 6 hp with aftermarket parts for $1500.00 bucks - what a great F'in deal!

I love how everyone is speculating on a new car with an 80% new engine. 95% of you do not even own the 07 car?? If it looks the same and sounds the same then maybe it is the same????

Actually Stillens uses the stock air ducts and doesn't remove that functionality like you did.

For a new member, you seem somewhat combative with others who have been around the z33 platform many years longer then you have..
Anyhow, I hope your mods work out as planned.

You know, it's real funny how some of you guy's treat this forum like a Fraternity. "How dare a newbie come up with something new or try something new. Let's haze him with downplayed comments and make him feel stupid. But, the newbie better not talk back and have an opinion of his own????......"
What you have to be on this board for 4 years to all of sudden be an expert and know everything about a new motor "once again" that only 5% of you have.
Ban me? Go for it!
