stock air box
Sorry i didnt know if this is the right spot for this thread...

Is this a good idea, bad idea, or just retarded?
I was thinking of removing the front piece of the air box so that way my K&N got more air, do you think this will work?
Or second thought is Modifying the stock air box, By cutting the bottom right front of the box to keep some type of heat resistant shield?
I know this may be a lil confusing just bare with me... i tested the K&N only, by keeping it held to the air box, with out the plastic drop in.. it sounded a lil more deeper... so this is how i came up with this idea...

If you're going to compromise (Ie. cut or drill) the oem box, you may as well just take it out, because it will draw in hot engine heat. The oem box is sealed with only the intake port getting fresh cool air. What ever solution you come up with, it needs to be sealed.
