you would most likely have to reset for the light to go off. But honestly, it shouldn't throw a code with these cats, i would take your car up to autozone and have them pull the code before you make assumptions that the light came on because of the cats. it could be a number of things. The non-foulers wont hurt anything, but no point in drilling in an expensive HFC if it is not necessary.

I just had the tranny rebuilt and had the cats put on. Never had the light show up before the tranny issue and it runs just fine. I will run to autozone and check it.
