Default Does anyone regret getting the NISMO Exhaust???

I have researched and researched and i think i want it and im ready to buy this Friday... but all the posts i read about nismo being just a "little bit louder than stock" and how its not worth it are giving me nightmares... I know it won't give me more power i just care about the sound... I dont want it TOO loud (where ill attract cops)but i want it to scream a little bit...aggresively... in a good way...

So did anyone here buy the nismo exhaust and then were really disappointed? Should i get something like the HKS or the Stillen? my first choice is NISMO though.. i think... ****!!! I know im gonna get flamed BUT its a grand($$$$) here!!! Please help me out.

P.S. I've listened to all the youtube nismo exh vids...

I have the Nismo and love it! It sounds quiet unless you get on it.

if you want something loud dont get nismo. if you want little louder then stock then get nismo. most people here who got nismo are the ones who wanted a little louder then stock, not to get ticket, or just to keep there car nismofied.

and there are others who sell there nismo for hks for looks, tiny gains, and louder sound.

sell the nismo if you dont like it. it sells like your giving it away for free

Good instinct, I have the nismo exhaust and love it. When cruising, with the pedal off the accerlerator, the drone or sound is almost non-existant. However, from the outside, whether it be WOT or a simple drive-by, the exhaust is very noticeable. When people say the exhaust is not loud enough, this could be their perspective from inside the car. I've had people drive my car at normal accerleration, and the exhaust, in my honest opinion, is perfect. Check out some videos on the nismo exhaust on youtube, you'll get the idea. Hope this helps.

I sort of regret nismo only because of moderate power gains. But aside from that, one can't ever go wrong with nismo parts.. the sound from this exhaust is probally one of the best i've heard. Sounds great, not too loud, looks clean (Not big cannons hanging down, although some cars can pull it off). I don't trip when a cop is behind me.

I just heard the Tanabe exhaust tonight, it sounds sweet!!

It would be a consideration of mine if I was to just go for an exhaust on my setup.

No buyer's remorse here.

But let me get this straight; you are buying a $1,000 part primarily for sound and it matters enough to you that you are losing sleep over it (LOL!) but you haven't heard it in person yet? You are a marketer's dream customer!

All depends which Tanabe you are listening to.

The Super Medalion Hyper is rated to stay under 95dB, which as I said in my review of this exhaust is louder than stock at WOT (way quieter than my old Injen TD though), but at idle and cruising, it is very quiet.

The Super Medalion Touring is rated to stay under 93dB which is very stock-like in sound. Maybe a smidge (yes, it's an industry term) louder. Plus you get the cool double wall tips which the Hyper doesn't have.

Both of these exhausts have the 'distinct' Tanabe deep, hollow, exotic sound but at different volume levels. I have the Hyper and absolutely love it. Quiet when I need it to be, but prominent when I want it to be.

Nismo with stock cats = Not too loud, nice deep tone, no hassle from cops
Nismo with TP's = Very loud, cops may hassle you, very nice sound, some rasp but eh.
