As followup, I did find a little data on folks using the x-pipe but I want to know if the Borla resonators should come off if I use a Magnaflow x-pipe/muffler?
If they should come off is it for performance reasons or just sound?

The Magnaflow X pipe is a 4" center on center measurement. Make sure you have enough room. You shouldn't have an issue getting it to fit, as when the Borla H is disconnected, it will spread out anyway.
You will see a ~3 hp gain as well.
Keep the Borla resonators, unless you want to change sound specifically.

you can then go to the shop that is doing teh work to find out which will work best.
They have different sizes and spreads...Rick
Just ordered the magnaflow x-pipe muffler. I will get it sometime next week and have it installed by the end of next week.
Lets see how it comes out. I will keep everyone posted on the results. Hopefully I can get a couple of vids of before and after comparisions.
Stay tuned

I would cut the resonators off, as your new xpipe is basically a resonator/muffler. I was going to go that xpipe route but the muffler shop said even w/cutting out the resonators it would be real quite? so i didnt do it just had the resonators cut out and the hpipe welded. I'm anxious to hear the sound clip also.
I dont know if I want to cut the resonators.Wouldnt that change the sound? I mostly got this to eliminate rasp and hopefully get rid of some of that hissing sound borla is known for.
If I could make it sound like when I had my stock cats that would be awesome. All the flow without the other noises.
What do you guys think, should I keep the resonators or cut them?

do not cut the resonators off your borla exhaust. Unlike the H-Pipe design, the resonators are quite efficient. I've seen Supra owners take one of the resonators and add into thier line up for a much cleaner sounding exhaust. You can look at them and tell they are of high quality. Keep them in there, you would regret taking them out. (you would sound like a topspeed exhaust)
Yes sir it is. Thats what I'm hoping for. I'm not into the loud exhaust note anymore. I love how some of the z's sound on here, but I dont think I can manage it on a daily basis.
I'm interested on knowing what it sounds like as well...I have Borla/RT cats/popcharger/Plenum and while it sounds great (like a deep tone outboard motor) it is pretty loud at WOT...to the point where I don't take my car to redline often because it draws too much attention. If this quiets the exhaust down, but still keeps a nice deep tone, I'm definitely going to have to get this.
Just got back from the muffler shop. I am proud to say that I can push my car past 3200rpm without any rasp whatsoever
. It sounds like I have cats on. A more amped up version of stock. No hissing on deceleration
or while reving it.
The tone is very nice. I highly reccomend this mod to people w/ the borla/header/test pipe combo. I'm going to try to get a vid in a little bit.
