i have my Tanabe Y-Pipe and Tanabe Hyper Medalion Exhaust for two years now. I still love the sound and I never see other Z that have exhaust sound better than mine.
you will hear rasp if you put test pipe. Put HFC like kinetix i have. No rasp at all.

I had HFC, stock y-pipe and exhaust a yr ago. With this setup, I got little rasp when car is cold. After the car is warm up. You may not hear any sound different. To me, I feel it has more free flow with tananbe y-pipe.

Are you replying to me?? I asked if the Tanabe Hyper sounded different with the stock y-pipe...

The Tanabe midpipe is 70mm (~2.36) diameter on the exit side and the stock y-pipe ext it 2.25 (correct me if i'm wrong). It's not that much of a difference and it will progressively get bigger, so I wouldn't think the sound itself would change much.

BTW: 70mm = 2.75in.
After the cats, the Tanabe Y-pipe collects the airlow with dual 60mm(2.36") piping and then singles into the 70mm(2.75") piping. Then the Tanabe Hyper Exhaust collects the airflow with the 70mm(2.75") midpipe.

If you love the your exhaust sound now but want louder. HFC is a good choice

I want it louder so I think I'm going to stick with test pipes but which ones? I've been looking at AAM's and I know Berk's are coming out soon too. I've read that guys that have AAM's are rubbing. We'll see. I'm in no rush yet.
Hate to bring this car back from the the dead again, but after seeing the "new" vid clips, just wondering how different it sounds (if there is any dif at all) on the VQHR as opposed to the DE?
I'm not sure what new clips your talking about? I'll be posting new ones next week after I get the Berk test pipes and Fujita intakes installed. I can't wait for that. I'm also getting it dyno'd on Dec. 15th at the AMS/Berk Tech dyno day. I'll again post clips.
