I put a 5/16 spacer from Motordyne Engineering on my base model. Did not do any tuning afterwards but have thought about it. My butt-dyno says there is an improvement in the mid-range.

if i buy a plenum spacer and do not tune my ecu, the most that will happen is that i will not recieve full benefit from it? no mechanical problems can occur?

Mostly any modification or realtering of the intake/exhaust flow will benefit from a tune. However, a tune for minor mods like what you are discussing are not really necessary...hell if you have an EMS, then why not tune?? If you do not have a EMS, then are you going to drop $1,000 just to give your car a minor tune?? I don't want to tell you to search, but there alot of people on this forum that have those spacers and have not reported many problems, if any at all.

You seem so unacquainted with 350Z modifications. You appear to have no idea about what you're doing. Quit asking foolish questions like "how much hp will a thermal 5/16s plenum space give?" You need to explore this forum more and try doing some research you moron.

kirradude1025, the questions you have asked thus far in this thread have been all asked and answered NUMEROUS times over the last 4 years. I see you have a whopping 9 posts as of the time I am writing this, so perhaps you didn't look over the rules & etiquette of the forum that you agreed to follow when signing up for this forum. Although it may be crude and not very intuitive, there is a search function. You can probably do a search on "PLENUM" in the "INTAKE & EXHAUST" subforum and you will find every piece of information you could EVER want to know on the plenum, how it works, why it works, what spacers are available, what upper plenum replacements are available, there is a plenum spacer shootout thread somewhere complete with dyno charts of different upper plenums and spacers.........etc, etc, etc.

Now, one of the more established members could do this search for you and come back here and post the info, but I think you should start using the search function for such basic questions as you have asked so far. Otherwise you will get tired of starting threads only to have members telling you to search. You may even get the infamous Search Kitty!!!! And you don't want the Search Kitty!!!!
