Default Random Tech or Berk HFC's

Ive done some searches but havent found anything that compared these two together. Wanting to go FI fairly soon, so first off I guess its going to be metal substrate for me. Just wondering what your thoughts were between these two. Leaning towards berk becuase of the extra prong for the sensor and cheaper price.

Im still a newb on here, but any input is appreciated.

thanks

well, if you're going to go FI, most of the time (turbo mostly), the hfc's won't hold up, so your best bet is to just go test pipes. berk tech makes test pipes with the 02 senor thing as well.

^^I really would like to know if Berk's Test pipes really do keep the CEL away with those built-in fixes???

I'm NA and my one of RT HFCs imploded after about 6k miles. The guys over at Crawford had a good laugh when I told them about it. They said RTs are known for that. Anyway - I'm replacing them with high quality resonated test pipes now. I kept my factory cats, so I can put those back on to pass inspection when the time comes.

ok, if i went with test pipes, how easy can i pass inspection, i mean i know theyre fixes but id just rather have something done one time and dont have to worry about it. Do you guys think the berk tp's would work with the extra prong they have?

uh.. to my understanding unless you know someone or tip someone, you won't pass emissions. When you get an emissions test done they stick a prong up your tail pipe and because there are no cats....you will fail right away. Unless maybe your talking about visual inspection?

TPs won't pass a visual inspection either. Just keep your factory cats handy for the times you need to pass inspection...

I just got my RT HFCs installed about 1k miles ago and havent had any problems with them. *knock on wood* I was recommended them cause I was told they wouldnt crack like other brands. Ive heard there is some isolated incidents with them imploding though. With the HFCs, HKS exhaust and tune, I gained 15 hp to the wheels.

That would depend on the type of inspection. Ask in your regional forum.
