If you have $2600+ to spend on exhaust why are you just considering a cat back? You could have Stillen headers, and cat back, maybe even test pipes for that much and have an extra 35+ WHP vs. the 10 you might get from either of those exhausts.

I don't have that kind of money and I drive my car daily so i spent $675 (free shipping) at Intense motorsports (i-m-racing.com) and bought a very livable and great sounding Tanabe Hyper Medallion cat back (<93dBs)

...plus the muffler looks like the stock one FTW
lol 35 whp from headers/cat-back exhaust/TP's haha from a Z wow. More like 25ishwhp with a freaking tune.

To the OP the Amuse is by far quieter than the HKS but has no rasp to it (let the HKS fan hate me for saying it has rasp )

In reality like stated on the 2nd post....you simply can't compare these 2 exhausts, the price range is at opposite ends

My bad i guess it was a bad idea to trust what stillen has on the website. They say:
they're cat back does "16 HP at 5600 rpm and 14 Ft/Lbs at 4600 rpm"($1150)
the headers do "11.5 hp at @ 6200 RPM and 18.5-lb.ft @ 3800 RPM at the wheels." ($727)
and... "These converters increase output by 9 HP and 8 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels" ($525)
- so i just figured it'd be safe to assume they're dyno's aren't lying.

$1150 + $727 + $ 525 = $2402 + Shipping
16 + 11 + 9 = 36whp...
14 + 18 + 8 = 40 lb.ft...

Honestly i'm not trying to start drama or be offensive i'm just reading off the site, you guys have actual experience though and know what gains you can make.

btw +100 for having the same cat back as me!

if you are willing to spend the money get the amuse. I have the amuse, nismo Y and UR HFC and it sounds REALLY good. Doesnt drone at highway speed and its really exotic when you step on it. Its quiet if u want it to be and it can be loud if you want it to be heard.

Ive heard the HKS and it sounds decent. But i prefer the amuse.
Performance wise, if you are NA, both wouldnt make enough of a difference

No hate taken man...its just that its rare to see those gains on dyno's outside of manufacture tuning shops. I agree on the +100 on the Tanabe...saving money and getting quality stuff saving it for better stuff

I had the Amuse for several months, and even though the quality and looks are top notch, the sound is truly unique - which was not to my taste. Hearing it on a 1" speaker from your laptop is not the same as the real thing. With my setup it was loud and exotic. I prefer owning an exotic to having a car that sounds like one. I used to own an '84 Countach, and the Amuse reminded me of it - a lot. However, I now prefer something with a little more rumble and grunt. If you want a musclecar sound, don't get the Amuse. Otherwise, it is a great exhaust.
