every thread you read on here about the spacer people praise it, saying how they can pull on other z's and they can feel the added power....but the truth is, it is a waste of money on a NA Z

The truth is, you dont know wtf your talking about...

Spacers/plenums make power-except the POS SSV. Its proven on the dyno and the strip. I trapped 107mph (I trapped 101mph stock) with bolt-ons I guess they didnt work to well did they?

also think about other stuff...the pic shows you have wheels. Are they 18s or 19s? How heavy? Who installed the plenum spacer? sure you dont have a leak?

more than likely a better driver ftw

Also I have JWT popcharger, test pipes, y-pipe, Tanabe Hyper madallian exhaust (2.75 inch), and 5/16 spacer. He has off brand Intake, test pipes, y-pipe, and cheap ebay exhaust that is (3 inch).

Cheap Parts > Expensive Shiit

First of all its all about power to weight ratio. Are you driving an 03 Touring and hes in an 03 Base/enth? That would account for the difference right there. Or do you weigh 215lbs, and he weighs 145?

Second of all every car is different out of the factory. Some cars have 5-10 more hp to the wheels then the same type of car stock. Hes car might just naturally be a little bit faster then yours. Or maybe your engine is just in worse condition then his, and you ****ed yours up somehow.

Third of all the spacer has proven time and time again that it gives gains. Most of the time you need to tune the car to see 75% of the power it gives. That was the case with my car. If you both tune your cars right now, and you have the spacer and he doesnt, You should have about 8-10 more whp through out your powerband, and you should then be able to pull on him. Your most likely runing more lean then him because of the spacer, and therefor will be able to get more out of a tune.

We have a full bolt on Z that has a faster time than a TT G and two SC Zs. Driver Mod is a LITTLE important. Oh and track prep.

Awesome weather played a very key roll there, though.

I think alot of the times posted were last May-June, where the average DA was between 5200-6k'.

I8a's DA was almost half that day. I wish I woulda ran my car then...

I would do the tune to fix that air/fuel mixture. Your feeding even more air and not getting enough fuel to match it. This is one of the reasons why I hate bolt-ons on an N/A car. I had two other cars will full bolt-ons and they both ran like crap until I got the ecu tune and then it was totally different story. Power was even throughout the rpm band, and gained a lot of low-end torque back and more.

just some more info on the cars, i have 03 enth and his is 03 base, i have 34k miles and he has 64k miles, i have 18's with a little bit smaller tires, he has stock wheels and stock size tires. i figured the smaller tires would have the same effect as a gear change which would increase acceleration but i guess not. I guess i have to just save up some money and get the UTEC to make all this Shat i bought make a difference

yeah, different varibles. Bolt ons give gains but are not going to make a big enough difference like that where it will gain carlengths with each simple bolt on.

hahaha. The 1/2 makes a hp more I think from the Plenum shootout. I guess its manly to say "I have a 1/2" spacer"(in your manliest voice )

I think you need a tune or a flash. And someone said it, switch cars then see the outcome.

You took the words right out my mouth. I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the OP is heavier, has more weight on the vehicle, or rides on a full tank of gas. These are all factors that could make a "fender's" difference.

You need an MREV2 buddy. I would kill stock or mildly modded Z's when I had my MREV2, 5/16th spacer, TP's, Exhaust...blah blah blah. ANyways, I gained 25hp and 28ft lbs tq at 4500 rpms with just and MREV2 and spacer with no tune. What?!

Here is the link to the Dyno graphs:
