Quick Question on AEM Intake
I saw this picture posted before and i just want to ask if the stock panel for inside the wheel well fits back into place. I hope this is not a dumb question. If it does fit back in over the AEM filter, have any of you decided to leave the paneling off? Thanks in advance.

Funny you ask that question. I just installed mine last week and asked the same thing. Everyone advised me to keep all plastic shields on! The intake will still suck in cooler air simply because it is away from the motor. All you really need to do is remove the 4 bolts on the bottom to bend back the dust shield enough to install the filter itself. Good luck. By the way, the wire harness you disconect from the frame is very difficult to install with the bracked they give you to snap it in on. I just used black wire ties to tack it out of the way.
You definitely should put the black plastic fenders back on. I would suspect a lot of junk and water would splash up into the filter if you didn't. Also, the filter could be damaged by the impact I would guess.
You really don't have to remove the fender or the wheel to install the AEM though.
I just turned the wheel all the way to the left and folded the fender back a little to get the filter down there.
