Default Noob exhaust question.

Well 2 questions actually. What are "Test Pipes"? I'm thinking about ordering a Fast Intentions exhaust and have seen a lot of people have them, the test pipes I mean. Also, I'm planning on doing a TT by next summer and wasn't sure how this exhaust works with FI. My buddy said I should use a 3" exhaust, that a 2.5 wouldn't work well with the turbos. Thanks for the help guys.

2.5 will work for F/I, 3 is better for F/I twins tho. Test pipes deletes your restrictive cat converters.

So which would be better for a twin turbo set up, test pipes or hi flow cats? I'm assuming the test pipes are way loud?

What are testpipes? You have alot of research to do before you even think about turbo. Both testpipes and HFC can be used for a turbo setup but you will find most members on here opt to go the testpipe route as more power of the money.

My contributions to your worthless thread are over.

Ok then. Testpipes are pipes that delete your cats. Deleting your cats yield greater horsepower because of more air flow. I just thought it was rather funny that you're asking such a simple question as "what are testpipes" and you want to go turbo. Didn't mean to hurt your feelings man. LOL

No harm done. I understand the confusion. Like I said, I'm new to car tunning. I've only done performance mods to bikes. I always thought running no cats was called "Running strait pipes". And yes I eventually want to turbo to get more power, but am trying to learn as much as possible from people that have done it and can contribute if they feel like it. I've worked on street bikes for over 7 years and have build monster motors and am always offering free advice to anyone who asks no matter how many times I hear the same question. But there is always some asshat that wants to act out and belittle someone for trying to learn something like they were born knowing everything. For that guy......

I ran a search...didn't find the info I was looking for. And sometimes people like to have a more personable answer to a question to make sure they understand it right. So grow up.

closed before it turns into a flame war

To gsxjohn... as I'm sure any FI specialists will tell you... worry about turbos first and exhaust later.
