Current Amuse Y-pipe requires removal of the cat and makes it illegal to operate on public roads. I'm waiting for one that is street legal.
eh...i don't think that's rigth...the amuse y-pipe is a separate part from the straight pipes that replace the cats...so the y pipe should fit the cats fine i think. i'll find some pics in a magazine and post them here

Very nice! Where did you get it front? Any sound clips? I am debating, but I've heard you need to remove the Evap. Canister to install the exhuast. Is that true?
How much louder is it from stock?

Not to rain on anyones parade but this stuff is straight up stupid expensive. It does look nice and I'm sure it sounds good too, but for that kind of money I would want a much more significant improvement in performance.
I love to do mods but 10-20% of the value of the car on an exhaust system???? HMMMMMM. Have to think that one over.

amuse R1 y-pipe:
titanium - 98000 yen
stainless - 68000 yen
piping size - 60->76.3
amuse R1000 straight pipes:
stainless - 38000 yen
piping size - 60
last i heard, they were having problems with the y-pipe so dunno if it's out. these are the numbers from the hyper rev magazine.
here is the picture of those parts. i dunno if you can read these, but the two parts in question are the ones that are labelled "amuse" in english.
here's the entire amuse exhaust set-up:
i got pictures of dyno charts of the amuse system if anyone's interested...here's one. red line is stock, green line is muffler only, blue line is y-pipe-back exhaust, i think.
(i tried linking the full-size picture...but seems like imagestation forbids external links to full size pics in their albums)

as for the y-pipe, the only tuners that have them (that i could find info for):
amuse
top secret
esprit
mine's
tommy kaira
impul
some of these guys seem to sell the y-pipe as a part of their cat-back systems.
