I have searched and searched for an answer to this with no luck. I just purchased the nismo cai for my 2004 touring coupe and was wondering if it can be converted to a short ram as I don't want to go through the hassle of locating the filter by the wheel well (bumper/fender liner removal/pita filter change difficulty, etc). I am also biased to the location even with the bypass valve as I often go over deep water puddles in heavy rains and don't want to risk water ingestion. Also, if it is possible to convert to short ram; how is this done and will there be any potential issues in doing this?

 

one day when i had my Nismo CAI, i wasn't able to leave work due to a huge puddle in front of the office. then next day i converted it to a short ram. just take a look at the piping and you can test fit and figure it out, but i can be done with some fiddling
