Question Dual Intakes on HR

Ok. I've been reading alot on here about the hatred towards intakes. Yet I see almost everyone still gets it.. Alot of people say intakes actually never add hp. It's just 300 or so dollars for sound. Now when on sites to buy intakes it shows dyno proven. Adds so and so hp and trq. Everyone on here is keeping me from ordering intakes for my '08. Yet everyone still buys them.. Anyone got any advice (other then try it yourself) Or any words of knowledge to help me with all the contradictions I'm seeing on here about intakes.. Thanks.

The factory intakes are absolutely fine. This is no Honda, you cannot expect an easy modification to make spectacular power. Nissan engineers have pretty much designed it plenty efficient from the factory.

Stupid question and pointless thread.

I wouldn't go so far to say its pointless.... Everything you said up till bein pointless is good.. My thing is.. Like you said the factory intakes are fine. And by looking at them when u pop the hood you can see it. And it won't make spectacular power.. My ques.. I guess I shoulda explained this better. Is.... If the stock intakes are so good. Why are people dropping 300 dollars for intakes?? Is sound that important?? And if it dsnt do so much. Then why are companies claiming it gives 10hp or so?? That I don't get.

Lightbulb Hey....

man...don't take these guys too seriously. Generally yes, an intake is not going to win ya any races at the track. They're purchased because they look spiffy, add a couple of hp that you can claim bragging rights against your friend's stock Saturn and do help with the noise factor.

The stock air boxes work well but for most part, an intake is a great way to get your feet wet. It's a gateway mod. Beware of the sweet, sweet repercussions...

one...everyone knows someone with a Saturn or so it would seem . Two, I was simply referring to the possibility that if you start with something as basic as an intake, it will do nothing more then wet your appetite for power like the salivating dogs that make up this forum. Intake > plenum > exhaust > cats > pullies > wheels > suspension > body >>> tear it all off, repaint the car green after going full TT haha.

Good luck btw...

Just buy it.. i have the Fujita dual intake on my 07 and love it. It's not much of a gain but you can feel the difference in response.... Do what you want to do with your car. People are going to tell you their point of view. Go with yours.

Spend your money on some HFC if you want power and a more agressive exhaust note. I found out intakes are a big waste of money the hard way. Check sig

Nismo stuff is for people who like the stickers. If you want actual performance gains, look elsewere.
