So I was hanging out with my buddy this weekend, and he kept giving me sh*t because I got a single outlet exhaust (Apex'i ExTi). He keeps telling me that an x-pipe will provide good back pressure while allowing sufficient exhaust flow. I keep telling him that there is a reason no one makes the x-pipe for the 350z, i just can't think of why. Im going to be running a high compressions N/A setup eventualy, so can someone explain to be why no-one makes an X-pipe for the 350z? I know there is a good reason why no-one does it, i just can't think of why. Im hoping for one of you automotive engineer guys to explain. Thank you very much for any info!
You don't have to be an automotive engineer to understand it. Why is he telling you to put an x-pipe on your single exit exhaust?
I think Fast Intentions has an x-pipe on their exhaust systems. HKS, Greddy, and Injen come with H-pipes. Evidently they must provide better flow.

Im talking about just a whole new exhaust that is an X-Pipe. I know it provides better flow, im just looking for oneone to help explain why only one or two manufactures make them.
Price maybe? Fast Intentions charges an arm and a leg and the SVRT exhaust does as well (assuming its even around anymore) From my mustang days I remember always hearing that a proper X would outflow an H pipe. However, on our cars the difference between even a single vs dual is so insignificant and debatable that the primary difference why people choose certain exhausts is not gains, but sound.
IMHO anyway...
