Default Custom Muffler Delete 56K bleh

A while back I had my OEM muffler cut up for a muffler delete, I retained OEM tips... this is on an 04 g35 coupe..

Unbolt you muffler at the midpipe and it will be close, sounds like azz , loud as hell and makes crummy power.

Did they weld a bolt at the Y for the ground strap? I guess this is your DD? My 10 year old Chevy van is cleaner.

I did that on my Z, stock exhaust without the rear muffler split into 2 tips. It sounded good except the drone was so bad it would make me sick.

Couldn't they fabricate a nicer y-pipe? +1 for sound clips...

I'm doing the same "muffler delete" tomorrow with my boosted Z, your muffler shop did a good job with the welds and looks clean. The only thing I would change is eliminate too much bend/angle on the piping, not good for the flow of your exhaust.

Not really. I have another OEM exhaust that was given to me by a G35driver.com homie. I wouldnt do this without a back up

The sound isnt too bad anymore.. it used to be really loud, but i think the exhaust build up actually toned it down alot... As far as power goes.. I really wasnt looking for power.. I was looking for more weight lose.. There's a dyno day coming next month.. I'll see how much i'm gaining or losing then'

Yes they bolted the ground to the Y-Pipe.. Is that bad? This is my DD, I drive about 70miles a day to and from work. I live in the northwest. You try washing your car when it rains everyday. BTW.. Your van is hella clean..

Yep... It did that for awhile. but it's actually pretty quiet compared to the Top Speed

That's the 2nd design.. The first one had less bends, but it sounded really loud. so we opened up the OEM muffler and attempted to fabricate what was similar to the internals of the OEM muffler.

Make sure to try different things out.. it's surprising what a few mm bends change the sound. good luck!

Thanks for all the positive comments. Here's the sound clip... Note.. the video makes it sound pretty bad.. many local Z's and G's on the forum heard it in person.. they're all pretty surprised that it really doesnt sound half bad at all

Whats it soiund like in the upper rpm range. Didnt sound like you reved it that high. When I had my 350z I had aftermarket y pipe ,test pipes , no resonator and cat back. In the upper rpms it seemed quite loud. All of a matter of what your used to I guess. In the vide it didnt sound bad. Just wondering how high the revs were?
