I don’t know for sure, but by adding components usually never results in a true addition of power. Just one of those things especially with the ecu the way it is..

Someone will have to dyno the car with mods. When the plenum was dynoed on a stock car and a car with headers it did yield roughly the same number.

All I am saying is that don’t get your hopes up and expect 20+20 to = 40 when it might equal 35. For all I know it may even = 45.

Guess the most interesting to me would be this plenum, plus crawfords headers and borla exhaust. Would be interesting.

How many hp you think you got out of the installation alone? Will that also work on other cars using the Vq35 engine like the G35 sedan or coupe?

On a completely stock 6 speed car the dyno said 9 peak HP and at around 6300 RPM it increased HP over stock around 20
We think the plenum will fit a G35 but haven't instaled one yet the G35 and the Z do have the same plenum

The G35C doesn't have a tower bar, either, so if it works for you guys, your cost would be lower (unless you want to add the bar, too).

Ok I have the preliminary installation instructions done. These are not 100% complete and have not been given a "go" by Doug yet, but I just wanted to test the waters. Let me know if there is an area that needs more attention.

Thanks,

Adam

went down to Strictly Z and checked out this plenum on their car. Yuichi (owner) says it kicks it. I like the raw look of it as well..looks kinda 'means business'... Called Doug he was supernice, so ordered me one plus the replacemant bar as they are finished. ETA 2 weeks. I'll shoot some pics and so on and post them and my impressions.

Congrats... you're going to love this thing.

Remember my dyno numbers reflect a track edition with the k&n filter, grounding kit... and this plenum.

Not bad a must say.

Then the rush at high RPM just BEGS for me to rev it out!

Congrats... Killer to see we're getting exposure on the west coast now!

I've been trying to tell you guys, this piece makes your car BEG to be revved!

My car... w/grounding kit, k&n fiter... and this plenum. 253rwhp.

What more can you ask for!

What was your baseline dyno before this?

Default whoa

Just installed the plenum... only took about an hour and a half or so....let's just say it's worth twice as much as I paid for it. The punch up top is much, much better. You are accelerating harder right up to fuel cut. I need to get this dynoed right away.

Dyno'd baseline with the k&n and grounding kit...

Peak made 244rwhp...

With the plenum... dyno'd 253 at the previous peak.

What better way to sell the product...

We understand we can talk about how good the piece is... but not until its in the hands of other owners will they know!

Thanks again for the feedback Chris!

Enjoy!

... now get off the computer and go drive!

Does anybody have their before and after dyno plots to post? I'm interested in seeing what the torque curves look like, not so much peak hp gain.

Sorry I'm still new to modding the Z, but I thought our ecu's negated the effects of adding mods to our cars.

well..even if the ecu screws up the gains after a while..eventually a new ecu will be released or someone will figure out a way to hack the stock one and all those mods will be in place....I'm going to go ahead and do everything, even if its just for kicks and then get the R1 ecu or whatever comes out down the road.

...must tinker with car....must blow cash....must...

Doug dynod both this and the headers at least one of the dyno trips in Atlanta (after driving from Nashville). At a minimum, the parts had that many miles, and I know that the headers had many more miles before being dyno tested.
