Default o2 sensor question

ok i did a search for o2 rewiring, but did not find what i was looking for. i ordered a passanger side o2 sensor for my boys 06, but needed the one for the drivers side. so i cut the wires and spliced them together with some male-female connectors. the ses light has came on, showing the o2 code. is there a certain way these should be spliced together? should i soldier the wires together instead of using connectors. this is the second time rewiring, the first time i used the little grey connectors that come with the bosch kit for non oem o2 sensors. thanks in advanced for any help.

Always solder - and what O2 sensors did you get? Factory? Our cars do not have just O2 sensors - they are more of a wideband type of sensor.

i bought from a forum member here, he said it was for an 06 wideband. it was just the passanger side not the driver side. which is why im rewiring it. ok so ill try solder then and see if that fixes this damn ses light.
