Default Y-Pipe Advice Needed

I' considering buying a Nismo exhaust for $400 without shipping. The only catch is that it is missing the Y-pipe. I'm looking for some advice on the following: can other Y-pipes work with the Nismo exhaust and if so, will they affect its sound? and is it going to be more cost effective to either by a Y-pipe for this or to just get the complete system somewhere else. Thanks.

yes it will work. Actually...alot of the members here have switched out the y pipe because alot suspect that the y pipe is the reason why the test pipes/HFC crack.

You can probably find a complete nismo exhaust for around $600-$700.
It will cost you at least another $400 for a quality y-pipe.

ive only got test pipes with stock exhaust and y pipe and the pass side test pipe cracked the other day..i suspect it was from the flange hitting these crazy Floridian speed bumps
