Default Fujita Dual Intake Problem

I installed my Fujita dual intake on my 2007 350 about 5-6 months ago along with my HKS exhaust. Everything seemed cool....the install, the sound, etc. Well, atleast I thought so.

About 4 months after installing the intake and exhaust, I was driving down the road and the engine started to "putter", check engine light came on, TCS light came on and also the Slip light. The car felt like the TCS was kicking in, but I wasn't sliding or anything. The warning lights stayed on and TCS kept kicking in for a good 10-15 minutes. I couldn't even get out of 2nd gear and I was on the highway.

I took it to the Infiniti delearship to have them check it out. Why did I take it to Infiniti you ask? I live in Korea and there is no Nissan dealership. Anyways, they hold onto the car for a couple of days and turns out the MAF sensor wires got "cut" somehow. They fix the problem, but couldn't figure out how the wires got cut. So I get the car back and about 1 month later, I start having the same problems and after about 5 minutes the car shuts off completly. I am at a dead stop in the middle of the highway......again, talk about embarrasing. I get the car back to Infiniti and again the wires were cut.

Turns out......the Fujita intake on the passenger side mounts too high and when the hood closes, it smashes down on the MAF sensor wires and over time the hood and wires rub causing them to be cut.

I was just wondering if anyone has experienced the same problem???? Or if you looking to purchase the Fujita intakes, be aware of this problem. I have had to put the stock intakes back on, but would like to know if there are any other intakes for the '07 out there....like Injen or AEM????

AEM/Nismo intakes should not have a problem at all since it uses the factory plastic piece that attaches to the heatshield so the wire stays put and secure. Not sure about fujita but maybe you can adjust the intake and wire?

Default AEM Dual Air Intakes

I've recently installed AEM True Dual Exhaust on my 07 Z. No problem whatsoever..... i have a habit of cleaning the dryflow air filters on a weekly basis.

I can see how it could happen easily. I had to tweak mine several times during installation to get them rotated enough to ensure that MAF sensors would not contact my hood. I ended up putting a wad of chewing gum on them and closing the hood to make sure they weren't contacting my hood before I was happy.
