Default No air filter for the HR?

I went to the dealership to pick up some replacement air filters since I want them replaced before I go to the track on Thursday. They only had 1 in stock and they wouldn't have more until Friday....

So I went to Autozone to pick up a couple of Frams so I'd have new filters for Thursday. Fram and STP both list style 4309 as the replacement filter. That filter is way too big. I believe it's for the 03-06 Z. So Autozone called Advance, Carquest, and Napa. All of them had the same listing for all air filter brands, 4309... WTF? The 2007 has been out for over a year and they still haven't got the damn air filter replacements right? I even had my stock Nissan filter with me so they could reference the numbers on it...

Needless to say I'm very unhappy. I'll be picking up some filters on Friday it seems... and running at the track on dirty filters...

4309 is for the 03-06. The note on Fram's site says to 11/06 which I believe is the end of MY06 350z.

Here are the specs from KN&N for their replacement:

Can't 100percent confirm but I heard the 06-07 G35coupe K&N filters fit. I'll check my local autozone to verify. My buddy has an 07 G35 so I can look at his box as well.

KN&N lists this that filter to work in the g37 as well. No air filters show up for the g37 from Fram.

I don't want to get K&N yet though. I want to run stock for now. I'm on a mission to see if I can manage to hit 13.0 in the 1/4 while 100% stock, but having dirty filters isn't making me feel very confident, lol. Tomorrow I'm going to call some dealerships farther away until I find one that has my filters. Then drive there to get em. I'd prefer the Nissan replacement over Fram, or w/e, since I consider it to be more truly stock.

Once I hit a 13.0, or decide to give up hope, then I'll start modding and K&N will be one of the first things going in. Probably a CAI if there is one for the 07' that's significanty better than the current setup, otherwise just a drop in K&N.

You could always have one shipped from a vendor on here. (Overnighted from Japan in F&F talk).

I got 2 today from the next closest stealership (about 35 minutes away). $18 a piece... I'm going K&N on my next replacement regardless of whether or not I have accomplished my goal. I think they are only about $50 a piece and I'll never have to buy another for this Z. Then I changed my oil. So I'm all ready for tomorrow now. I'll have a timeslip to post on Friday, finally!

Good luck.

What have you run so far?

I've never ran a Z before until tomorrow. I've done 100's of runs in LS1 Camaro SS' though. They are remarkably similar in launching techniques, but there will still be some small adjustment. Plus it's been a couple of years since I've actually been to the track. But it's like riding a bicycle. A few runs and I'll feel right at home.
