Damn it - impulse buy

I just ordered the metalic substrate HFC's for an '03 from ART. I'm having them charge an extra $20 for you to weld in o2 bung pre-cat on the driver's side.

Anyone have berk HFC's with stock exhaust? I'm probably going to get HFC's before I find a nice used cat back. I assume that I'll gain some torque and hp, I won't damage the stock exhaust or anything, will I? I really like the appearance of my stock exhaust, I might just keep it. Thanks, and sorry for the newb questions. I'm new to 350z exhaust systems.. : )

^^

I am going to purchase Berk's high-flow cats and pair them with my stock exhaust. I will let everybody know how it sounds once I get them.

Ah, excellent! There's a video on youtube of the g37 with and without berk HFC's (stock exhaust). Sounds like it basically amplifies the already beautiful stock sound.

I know it's no 350z, but it's still a good comparison.

i am also interested in hfc's at this time. i want an extra sensor added and would like to see pics of your cats with wb sensor installed on the vehicle. i know this might be hard to do given the space limitations but if you have them please post. i am a previous crawford owner, later version, and mine cracked several times where the brace mounted (both sides) and then eventually the rt side failed. looking for a quality hfc now that won't crap out over a year or two and can hold up to the stress on the cats mentioned earlier in this thread. also, what are the inlet and outlet diameters? tx

Ok I couldn't wait, I ordered some Berk HFC's for my stock 04 exhaust.

Anyone want sound clips when I install them? This will be my first mod to the engine, so you won't be hearing an aftermarket intake or anything. Hopefully they will be installed by the middle of March.

I will try to do my best, my friend has a really nice mic that he'll hopefully let me barrow. I hate when ppl record with their digital camera's, especially inside of a garage where it echos real bad..

Honestly guys, are HFC's worth the money? I got the Nismo exhaust now, will I feel a noticeable difference in power or will it be minor?

Depends on your butt dyno.. I felt a difference in power, also noticed a difference in handling characteristics. The stock cats are very heavy in comparison.
I would highly recommend it, you wont be disappointed

It really is not for the power, but for the sound. If all you want is pure power then knock yourself out with test pipes.

When you installed your Nismo, I am sure you did not feal a difference in power. You probably did it for the fact that it is a Nismo brand, and probably because it has that unique sound no other exhaust system has.

Don't get me wrong, HFC's do make power. But nothing really noticeable.
