Default Problems with Skunk2 5/8 Plenum Spacer install.

Not sure if I did not add adequate water to my antifreeze before refilling, (half empty bottle was labeled 50/50) or if this part that was included with my used spacer was supposed to be installed somewhere, but my car is running cool at idle. The heat blows out cool until driving although the engine temp gauge appears normal.

The part that was included yet was not in the instructions is a 90 degree hose adapter. Where would this have gone? Also, will washers work for spacers for the strut bar being that this is a 5/8 or will I need the stillen/APS?

Yet another issue: Just went out for lunch and I hear a gurgling sound when I hit the gas in park. Sounds like it's inside? Could it have something to do with the thermostat and antifreeze mixture ratio?

Help?

Edit: Found out where the 90 degree coolant barb goes. There's two lines running to the throttle body that are used to heat it up. Does this address my issue?

^---- yup had the same issue when I did mine ... just take the cap of and let it run for a min. Keep filling up the rad. W/ coolant. It will work its way out eventually!

you have to bleed the air out of the system. like said before, take the bleed cap off and keep filling til just coolant comes out. repeat until all the air is out

i have the same problem as you bro, except with my MD 5/16 iso spacer. I tried bleeding the air out as stated above but the gurgling sound is still there. So ill try it again later when im not lazy haha. So, i take the air bleed cap off, then the radiator cap, then just let the car idle for a little bit as i keep filling the radiator with coolant? Then, i just put both caps on while the car is still idiling?

I don't see a relationship between installing a plenum spacer and cooling/heating problems.

If you pick up the upper plenum 5/8 inches I doubt there will be sufficient space for the OEM bar.

I have heard skunk2 states to drain and refill the coolant in their install directions for the spacer. Not exactly sure why though.

Well, there is a relationship, kind of. It is common to install the isothermal spacer beneath the lower plenum, and some install a coolant control valve in line with one of the hoses to the lower plenum. When they disconnect these hoses at the back, it will introduce air into the system. I've done it a couple of times, and ended up venting the system the second time. If you did not disconnect the coolant hoses, for whatever reason, then you would not encounter this problem.

Just vent the system as stated above. Unless one lets a lot of coolant spill out, it won't take long to vent it solid.
