Default Exhaust Weights

This is definately an absolute, that can easily be measured by anyone with a household scale, and I think would be an important consideration for anyone looking for more than just sounds.

Let's start a list. And I know there are members getting exhausts on a regular basis, so bust out that scale and report some weights. The Lotus Elise world count every 1-lb, I think Z/G owners should do the same if getting from point A to point B as fast as possible is one of your goals

If we get some meat here, this would make an excellant sticky.

Thank you.

I plucked this out of the 350Z Exhaust Shootout

OEM 350Z - 64 lbs
5Zigen (non cat-back) - 25 lbs
Borla (60mm piping, dual???) - 52 lbs
Injen (50mm piping) - 49 lbs
Nismo - 54 lbs

I believe the stillen is about 12 pounds heavier than stock, so around 76 pounds

Hmm, stillen seems to be on the heavy side. I might have to sell it.

I've been told that the "shipping weight" of the bassani dual is 83 lbs including all the packaging. No idea how much packaging or box weight is. It comes in two boxes also, one 14 lb x-pipe box and a 69 lb box for the remaining pieces.

Anyone know the weight on the Fast Intentions? A comprehensive list of weights would be nice.

Would a comprehensive list get you to buy a lightweight exhaust if it sounded terrible?

If I were building a track car, maybe. Eitherway, its still a parameter that I would like to know, as I would definately filter out any heavy-weights, and perhaps steer towards those on the light end, but ultimately its finding my own personal balance, but if I don't' know I can't make a decision.

No, but it would add to information about "X" exhaust and might sway my decision when added on top of other factors. At the very least it would satisfy the curious (like me).

I'm going with a single. most all of em sound great, theyre all light weight, and a 3 inch single y-back gives gains just as good if not better than 60mm or 2.5 inch duals. just fold the rear bumper and it looks fine too.
