Default Inspections with test pipes

I was just wondering since some of you have test pipes, I've heard that they are illegal in all 50 states. How exactly do you get your cars inspected and pass with that installed?

You either have a hookup, live in a county that is not emissions regulated (like me), go to a shop that doesn't care, or you put the stock cats on before you go. It's pretty simple if you think it through.

That would depend on your state emissions requirements. Ask in your regional forum.

Default It's another way for the government to collect money.

I don't think MD puts much effort into the emissions testing done here. I have gone several times with different vehicles and a couple of times they collected my money and "passed" me thru without even testing.

If you don't any active or pending codes on your ecu, you'll be okay as long as they don't do a visual inspection.

Well over here in Nj the do emissions test. It all depands how old your car is i believe if it 95 and up since its OB2 all the do is just plug in the computer and run everything of the ecu so as long as you have no codes your good. If your car is older older then 95 they do the sniffer test which then you'll fail
