I KNOW this is discussed. I was actually just reading some threads that I searched on this.
I'm tossed up between getting the hks ti true dual,, greddy evo tt, and fast intentions exhaust.

The threads I read are kinda toss ups still but not I guess convincing enough for me. I don't have the money that I can wing it at one and hope I like it and if I don't. Then juss get another. So I kinda wanna get convinced..

I love the greddy cuz of the looks and the sound.. But I read how it gives low end power loss which reaaallly turns me off..

I heard the HKS is great in gains all around. But in sound clips it seems raspy..

The fast intentions I heard great things about. i like the sound. But since I only saw videos. I'm alil concerned if its actually loud enough.

I want a nice loud exhaust.. (true dual).. But I don't want it screaming for cops if that makes any sense??

Any ideas from anyone?? Thanks.

 

lol sounds like you were in a place I was just recently. I decided to go with the Fast Intentions exhaust and test pipes. Here tomorrow and installed Thursday. NOW, my concern is running the test pipes on and not having a reflash available yet. I've been pm'ing a good guy on the forum with knowledge and he advised me to not take the chance of damaging my exhaust system and putting test pipes on without a good reflash/tune. So now, I'm at a loss of what to do....anyone with test pipes on for a while without a reflash that can confirm their car has been fine?

Back to topic though, I was on the fence between all 3. According to Sharif at Forged though, the new HR does not have a mid-range loss with the Evo-TT and has nice gains up top. HKS is definitely a fave on here and some videos make it sound like crap while others make it sound nice. Most on here though say the tone changes for the worse once test pipes are put on.

I have actually heard the FI and it's definitely louder than stock, in fact, it's got a deep tone and in now way would I say it's "light"

 

btw, this question has been asked maaaany times, so u may want to look at other threads that had these same exhausts up for questioning.

 

i dont get it hundreds of us are running test pipes with no tune. I plan on getting a tune on down the road when im done modding na wise. How are testpipes gonna ruin your exhaust?

 

I thought that too since I know many of those with the HR have been running TP's for a while, but perhaps damage is being done internally without quite knowing. Here's an excerpt of the minor warning, keep in mind it was more of a warning of POSSIBLY doing unnecessary harm:

"When the mixture is off, the car will not run properly. If it's rich/lean, you'll get excessive blow-by, which in turn soaks and coats the exhaust internals, degrading them and whatever else is in their path. The result - a blown system, maybe - a louder than expected system, maybe - more drone, maybe - fouled out plugs and/or O2 sensors, maybe - fouling out the oil from the blow-by, maybe - and whatever else CAN happen."

It was more of advice that I was requesting and him telling me the possibilities.

 

^ Interesting to know. On a slightly OT note, I recently got to hear the FI dual with test pipes. Sounded like sex.

T/P's arent going to make you run excessively rich or lean since the main O2's are still doing there job and are unaffected.

PS: i would say dont get the evoTT unless you plan to go turbo since it likely wont sound good

Fast Intentions makes a beautiful product. Dude, hit up Youtube for some clips. Watching like 100 clips and reading dozens of threads convinced me that the Borla TD was the way for me.

Are there no Z or other import meets in NY? Sounds clips don't do ANY exhaust justice. I'd put up money that there are guys in NY with those exhausts that would LOVE to show them off. Find some guys and hear it in person.

this guy had the fast intentions intimidator and HFC's on his g35

it sounded absolutely insane, not crazy loud but it got angry when you wanted it to!

my mouth literally dropped after i heard it. imho its the best sounding combo ive heard
