BTW- welcome to the boards morepower.
Thank you for the welcome, I have been a memeber for some time but just mostly lurk. I am sorta more familer with the Z32 and SE-R comunity but its interesting to see what people think of the development of the Z33 aftermarket.

The interesting thing is that I witnessed a carefuly controled test where a Z was uncorked from the muffler and redynoed to absolutly no power gain. All the power gains for this car come from the B pipe.

The exhaust has a synergistic effect with other mods as well, particularly camshafts. Engines become more sensitve to backpressure when the overlap is incresed.

Hey Mike,

I haven't been on tt.net as much since I bought the 350. How's project 300zx coming along?

Michael.

Looking for 620+ whp without giving up any streetabilty now, with new GT28R turbos, cams and posibley manifolds depending on how Seb's car comes out.

Also doing more suspension work with tubular control arms by NAMS. Also gonna install the racelogic tractin control system some day.

I heard about that test on this board awhile back. It was concluded that the stock muffler was well designed. So the next restriction would be the Y-pipe. So would you think a true dual setup would gain power? Thanks.

I don't think so because you can use the pulses from the opposing banks to broaden the powerband. I think the position of the first Y juncture is critical and the length of the pipes fromt the juncture to the manifold is important.

Interesting. If that's true, then do you think the Top Secret style Y-Pipe produces better results than the Nismo Y-Pipe?

I don't know, havent seen test results for that yet although the Stillen X pipe might be interesting. An X pipe made a huge difference on my Z32 even though it was pretty far back.

ihatethatbob.....I think you should just wait for the retail version of the Borla for the G35 Coupe. Maybe email them and ask for a more specific date.

The muffler will fit but the B-Pipe is a few inches longer.

I got my Borla headers from Concept Z now I just need to get around to putting them on. The Borla dual exhaust is on, but the headers are going to be a little more involved. Hopefully I can get it done on Saturday if it cools down a little.
