Default numbers on Borla or Nismo headers ?

Has anyone seen any claimed numbers on either the Borla or Nismo headers? Not looking for a debate, just any numbers claimed by the mfr.

i saw the nismo headers today when i went to performance nissan in duarte. they had a chart there and if i remeber right, they say* 14hp gain. ask jeff355, he'll hook you up with aa set of nismo.

i dunno bout borla, although the're roughly 560$ i think, about half of nismo at 1100 or somehting...

lol- some of us need some real help.

Daytona, thanks.

I just found this on a site selling the Borla headers:

Borla's high quality is known thru out racing. They are now offering T-304 STAINLESS STEEL Headers for your 350Z. These will help open up the exhaust and create more power through out the RPM band. Some have seen as much as a 27-rwhp gain from the headers alone. Matched with Borla's new cat-back exhaust system will make your 350Z perform as well as it looks. Borla backs all of its products with its 1 million mile warrantee against defect. So you can feel confident in the purchase of this high quality header kit.

hmmm

That's complete horse shyeet. Someone posted a while back that they talked to a tech at borla and he said the headers wouldn't do too much for power.

But I mean if some people have seen 27, the borla corrected whp should be about 10-13, which is damn good for $560.

Let me know what you decide. Maybe we can start a group buy or something.

What's the cheapest price anyone has found on the borla headers? Cheapest I've found is Summit Racing at $595. Anybody got them cheaper? Is $560 a quote from somewhere?

I guess I'll be the guinea pig. Just ordered the Borla's from Coz- will hopefully be here Friday so I can get them installed this weekend. I'll try and get on the dyno on Monday or Tuesday.

Import- coming down to SD on Thursday so you can check them out first hand.

I got an email from the borla techs a while back and the results were 10.7 whp and 11.5 tq i think. Ive got it posted elsewhere but i dont remember exactly what it was. Its about what you would expect form a set of headers to do on our car. Might be worthwhile if youve done some other basic boltons since they arent very expensive.

David Borla said himself that his headers wont give much....that 27hp number was the headers + dual exhaust combined.

I predict 5hp.

I was in no way expecting 27hp from headers. I'd be extemely happy w/ a 10-12 hp gain. I guess we'll know soon enough.

27 hp is very unlikely. Unlikely enough for me to raise the BS flag. A lot of the gain is probably due to a cherry picked run. Z33's are very sensitve to following a correct and specific dynoing procedure. If you uncork a Z33 from the muffler and dyno it you see NO gain in power. Most exhaust systems for the car on the market lose power. The gains you see are from the B-Pipe.

That's why I said I'm NOT expecting 27 hp gain- If you want to call BS on that claim then your beef is with Borla and not me. Like I said, I'll be the guinea pig and we'll see what happens.

Of course its not with you! I was saying that Borla is BSing and not you, its obvious that you were quoting them. Sorry about that. Please share your test results with us.

Most definitely - I'm just curious to see if there are any gains at all. For $550 I figured I'd test it out and share the results. I'll just Ebay the headers if they don't show any gains.

BTW- welcome to the boards morepower.
