Havin trouble installing my test pipes...terrible right? Well I dont have a lift, crawling under it and working on it with T-rex like length of motion isnt fun. BUT, do I really have to go down through the engine bay to get those nuts on the top flange?

I don't know about your test pipes, but I used to drive my car up on ramps to do under car work. Try that for more room. You could also do the ghetto way and hang the front end off a curb or something similar.

I had a friend install my test pipes while I gave him a minor assist.

We actually went at it in both directions with the car on jack stands. If you have tools that will angle, you could do it all from underneath. If not, extensions can help you from the top.

Hopefully you're not doing this yourself considering that you're posing this question. Just saying that because there were moments where I was reaching through the engine compartment using a ratchet of my own while he was underneath the car with a ratchet and some extensions. We ended up getting done much quicker that way.

so I'm fairly certain I have to go through the engine bay to get to these upper flanges...NO way to put ANY torque on it from under the car.

BREAKTHROUGH! just gotta take out that plastic panel and you can get a breaker bar to both bolts! dont have to go through the engine bay.

Hey, I was trying to do the same thing today (except with HFC's). Did you remove the brace bracket for the stock cats? Just curious because that seemed kind of in the way and I was having serious trouble removing it or getting to the top flange on the cats. (I'm going to try the breaker bar solution tomorrow though)

nah I just loosened up the brace so I could drop it down about a 1/2 inch and slip the cat out.. got the tests in though! cat fell SQUARE on my thumb, busted the hell out of it. BUT, has quite a bit more power now, pushes ya back in the seat a lil harder, louder too. little bit of rasp but I dont mind, was expecting it with the APS'. this install was harder than I thought though, MAINLY because I was using ramps...could get any torque goin or anything..ended up using like 5 extensions to get the socket all the way down to the flange from the engine bay.
