Default Z Tube

Does anyone know if the chrome z tube intake has any actual benefits or detriments? Or is it merely for cosmetics when installing a popcharger?

thanks in advance for meaningful input on this.

thanks raf84ny, i wanted to make sure there were no funky things i needed to be aware of such as producing greater heat in the summer due to being metal, etc. I've heard pop chargers can get heat soaked causing the car to shut off under certain conditions. I didn't know if the metal z tube might contribute to that or not.......
