Default Not sure if i was sold a Mrev2

I visited the guys from a local shop called Function:tuned a while ago to have a plenum installed and in the process they offered me a good deal and convinced me to install a used mrev2 (which i was planning on eventually getting). They sold it to me as an mrev2 but i just wondering if there was any way of making sure that it is indeed the mrev2 and not the mrev; perhaps a special encryption or marking of some sort that i can identify.

Btw, I have an 06 rev up and i am worried that i am losing power.

thanks for any help

It's possible you lost some low end torque if you didnt get tuned. Do you have a before and after dyno?

Here's a post with a pic of a real MREV2, a stock revup lower plenum, and a fake MREV2 (you can probably ignore the latter...or so I'd hope). Should show enough detail that you'd be able to tell.

From my experience, the guys at Function Tuned are honorable and knowledgeable people. I've never heard a single negative peep about them. I think you're probably just fine with them.

Did you get any pictures of it before it was installed? I could confirm it for you if you like.

As for power, you can make more topend if you install a spacer with it. And in any case you are certaintly making more TQ and upper midrange even without a spacer.

See the dyno plot at the very bottom of our dyno page to see the effect of a spacer on a MREV2.

Yep, I've had some work done at Function. You're in good hands with those guys - I'm sure they sold you the real deal.

i noticed that in the pick of the authentic one, theres no engraving in the empty space of the plenum while in the pictures of the stock rev up theres a "R" and a "1" and on the fake mrev2 theres an "M" and some sort of number following. Im pretty sure mine has engravings but im not completely positive. again this weekend im going to open it up and take some pictures.

The picture shown in the link is a real MREV2 but it was polished by the user, so its no surprise that the R and 1 is removed.
