Default Borla Duals, Nismo Headers, Injen Intake...

I just got my car back today. I now have the Borla Duals, Nismo Headers, and Injen Intake.

I got the Borla Duals two weeks ago and have been happier ever since. The sound is deeper (in a very good way) and the car pulled real hard after shifting into second and third. The only complaint I could possibly think of is that I wish it were louder b/c it sounds so good.

I got my car back this afternoon after getting the Nismo Headers and Injen Cold Air Intake in. Well, lets just put it this way, I don't think I can come up with a complaint. The sound, in my opinion, is incredible. It is throatier and louder than stock. Not too loud but loud enough to be noticed. And as for performance, I'll be able to post more tomorrow b/c it rained heavy 2 lights after i got it. But I got to test it out that first light and it pulled like it should. It pulled like crazy. I'm very happy with it.

If anyone has any questions, PM me, I'm happy to give you any paticulars that I can. Also, if anyone has information on some high-flow cats they have installed, I'll ask you to post or PM me some paticulars on them. Thanks.

Oh, and if anyone can guess at how much horsepower I gained from these mods, just an average of what people have posted. I'd appreciate it. I'm hoping to get it dynoed soon to see what I'm running.

Try to get some sound clips of the headers. Good write up though. I think you should probably gain about 15 or 16hp at the wheels with all of your parts. I think the sound of the AEM or Injen intake sucking in air is worth the price on it's own from the sound clips I have heard of them.

Thanks for your opinion. Give me a day and I should have you all a sound clip tomorrow. Also, someone had a question about the installation of the Nismo Headers. Heres a link to the install. I hope this helps.

Yes

Please let us Know - will we get Tickets? For too loud exaust?

Does it sound too ricey like the quick Ingen style exhuast. Or should we go the deep sound of the Stillen?

Cheers Amy -

Sounds like a great setup, something similar to what I want to do. Throw in some cat-deletes and I bet the sound can't be beaten.

I am planning on installing some headers also. I am leaning towards Borla because I have their dual exhaust already. Did you have any problems with the install of the Nismo headers and Borla exhaust? Did they line up perfectly?

My opinion: The sound isn't ricey. I'm not a fan of that paticular sound (example - the Injen exhaust is too similar of a ricey sound too me, just me). I haven't heard the Stillen but I think many of the people with the Borla Duals will agree that it sounds good. And after I've the Headers and Intake, its just made the sound deeper, louder, and meaner in my opinion. I'm very pleased. I'm looking at the cat-less pipes. Anybody that has them, PM and let me know your thoughts if you have the time. As for installation goes, a mechanic that works many race cars installed them for me. I know it requires a lift but I don't think he had any problems. And everything fit perfectly, The Borla Duals and Headers lined up nicely to the cats. Your sound clip is coming, I'm on lunch break, I'll have it for you hopfully early evening. Someone PM on how to post it once I have it on my computer please. Thanks.

Oh, I almost forgot. The performance is sweet! It is very easy to feel the difference in power. Very easy. It has always pulled hard. Even more after the Borla Duals. But now, it takes off and keeps taking off. I shifted at redline and noticed the RPM's stayed higher from 1st to 2nd than before. They only back to about 5000 RPM (estimate, I'll try to be more exact later) and the needle just starts rising again. No delay. It really pulls all the way through 2nd and 3rd. 4th is yet to come

Just so you know this is an illusion since you are probably pulling through the RPMs quicker. You did not change your gearing so the RPMs aren't changing.

Good afternoon,

DRWATSON1234 sent me the sound files and I have uploaded them to my server. Here is the note that he sent along and the clips:

I'm sorry about the quality of these sound clips. They were taken with my lap-top computer. The don't do justice to the quality of the sound nor the volume of the sound but at least they're something for everyone to hear, I guess. Anyways, thanks again for hosting them. I hope everything works out with whichever route you decide to go with for your car. Please keep in touch, I'd like to hear how everything turns out.

The exhaust sounds AWESOME! The intake clip sucked, you could barely hear it, I did like how you could hear it sucking in the air though. Anyway thanks for the sound clips DRWATSON.

Thanks for all the support and positive feedback. Mr. Potato Head: I'm going to say I agree with you. Thanks for informing me, I don't know much about cars unfortunately (hoping to change that). To let you all know, I've sent the sound clips to peptidbond to host for me. I am sorry for the poor quality of the sound clips; they were taken with my lap-top computer. They do not do justice to the sound quality of the intake when the car is in motion, nor do they do justice to the volume of the exhaust with the Borla Duals and Nismo Headers. Anyways, I hope you enjoy them, its something small to listen to. Please keep in touch with me to let me know how everything turns out for all of you. Thanks.

Default DRWATSON1234 why Nismo?

Why Nismo headers over Borla headers for the Borla
exhaust?
