Default New Stillen Exhaust and Computer "Relearning"

Q. I just recently installed the Stillen True Dual on my 07' HR. I have noticed that I seem to have lost some power, not sure if the exhaust was tuned for the pervious 350z motors and now with dual intakes on the HR it won't be as effective. I have read threads about certain parts that when installed the CPU need to "relearn" over time and some applications need reflashing (24hr battery unplug). My question is will I see the power that I once had with my stock exhaust and if so will it relearn on its own, or will I need to reflash the computer?

Thanks in Advance

How do you know you lost power?

Just do the ECU reset if it's really bothering you. I doubt you lost power because I remember Stillen claiming like 10-15whp. You could also get a dyno session and post the results.

The car doesn't seem as responsive when accelerating hard. I don't get as much snap back as I used to

I'm not doubting your feedback, but it could just be your butt dyno.

I haven't dynoed the car yet, this is all just my feel. You know your car after driving it around for a year, then switch out a major piece (exhaust) and it doesn't seem the same.

Maybe its just all in my head?

The ECU will attempt to restore parameters such as air:fuel ratio. You can unplug it. Kick it if you want. Doesn't matter.

What other's said, just reset the ECU and set up a dyno test.

Off topic, I was just about to order some Hotchkis sway bars, and I noticed your sig says they go "clunk." Care to elaborate?

I thought that there was more to reset the ecu than just disconnecting the battery.

Check out the suspension subforum and seach for hotchiks sways or clunking sound, there are countless number of discussions about that. Seems that the sways bind when the car flexes, some say its the stock endlinks. There are some aftermarket ones that are being sold, but have read that sometimes that doesn't correct the sound. The rear hotckis sways have greasable bushings, but not in front. Once the rears are properly greased it makes it less noticable. I personally hate it, but would rather the clunk, then the $hitty stock sways, IMHO.
