Default Does the AEM short intake sound the same as the long?

I'm debating whether getting the AEM short intake or the long intake. As corny as this may sound...i love the sound of the long intake but I like the bling factor of the short intake...seeing it when you open the hood.

Do they sound the same?

The short - ram intake might be slightly louder because the filter element is closer to the driver, but I don't think the sound would be drastically different.

I would however recommend the CAI. The CAI at least has the potential to make some type of gain. The short/ram, while it still represents a better flowing design than stock, takes in more heat soaked air from the engine bay than the CAI does.

I guess it's a matter of opinion really. I also like the short/ram look, but I like power better, even if it is just a single horse. If you want that bling look, buy a bling heatshield to help cool the intake charge a little. Take care.

Why not just get the Injen CAI. It can be configured as a short-ram intake as well.

Thanks guys...I like the injen but i dont like how the filter goes to the front of the grill..too bad you didnt have the option of short ram air with the CAI model. I guess I can live with the polished pip bling minus the filter...i guess it looks more mysterious seeing the pipe come down then into the front...but I just love that sound!!!
