Ah - maybe I shouldn't have gone with the metallics then, haha.

People have posted soundclips of test pipes with the stock exhaust. There are also a few soundclips of HFCs with stock exhaust.

Search around on here and on youtube.

five been reading this board for a while now and every time i read that someones got rasp SO bad that they needed to switch exhuast/cats

i still havent gotten to that so i either like the sound of rasp, or i have a high tolerance. I've read many descriptions of what rasp is but i still dont know. WHAT IS RASP???

hey whats up...

ive read thru this post.. its pretty discouraging... for HFC...

I was thinking of getting some Berks.. now im quite hesitant to change my OEM cats all together..

currently I have Ichiba Ypipe and Tanabe SMH exhaust.. no headers.

is it still worth it to add HFC's if you still have OEM headers...? or is that just pointless..?

or wich is more worth it.. Headers or HFC..? although I know it costs a **** load to install headers... so id likely never get headers.. unless I go Supercharge..

thanks
Tony

^^dont worry man, even if there is rasp (some members say there isnt) it isnt gonna be too bad. I mean, im not bothered by anything from this setup so it must not be too bad.

don't worry, you're not alone. Most people here don't know what it is either, or they mistake it for something else (exhaust leaks, for example). At the end of the day, rasp, or lack of, "good sound", "loud", "deep" or "throaty" is all in the ear of the beholder. Your absolute best bet is to go to a meet, check out what combos people have on their cars so you can hear for yourself, and decide from there.
