I put my headphones on and I can hear the slight hissing sound coming from your car too.

After your revs fall I can hear the small hiss.

Haha. He's not alone either. Many people have that sound but don't notice it. I don't mind the sound, but I was curious as where it was originating from and what caused it. I could care less about the hiss, as long as it doesn't take away from my performance.

good ear...never noticed it..the hiss could just be from the flow then? it's too common for nobody to not have fixed that issue

Dave, do you know of anyone who sells the O2 sensor spacers so you don't get a CEL?

Default Its your choice...

I understand you don't like the raspy noise, but you have to make a choice. Cats are nice if the only thing your going to do is bolt ons and you don't want a check engine light. Test pipes will last you longer there's no doubt about that. I have a personal friend that has turboXS test pipes with a nice FI setup. The pipes are going on 2 years and still strong. What i am trying to say is when the time comes and ready to make real power. You will have to get test pipes and there is no point in going backwards...

I have Crawford High Flow Cats on the car now, this is my second pair in 1 1/2. The first set, one of the cats cracked, bought a second pair, and I'm guessing the sound might be from the cats again.

If I have to replace the cats again, I'm done with the crawford setup. Can anyone tell me what cat or test pipe is a good product that will last and create HP. I'm not a big fan of the raspy noise the test pipes make, but if it will last more than a year then maybe i will consider it.

Thanks

I have had my Berk metallic cats for over 4,000 miles. The CEL has never came on. I doubt it ever will unless something malfunctions.

I've had mine for about 3k miles, and I've never had a CEL either. I put the spacer on during install and have never had a problem. But wow are they loud with my after market exhaust. I'm seriously considering buying a quieter exhaust for that reason alone.
