First of all, I am new to this Z stuff, hence why asked the question. If I knew what would sound good, I would have had it done already. Thanks for the advice regardless

Apparently its easier for forum members here to talk shiet and snob off than to just give advice... Ill tell you now searching will help to avoid these people. But yeah flowmasters on a Z is an abomination. I recommend test pipes, evott. nismo exhausts. There is a link somewhere here with a bunch of sound clips, you should check that out
Since you are a fellow Houstonian I will cut some slack.
I recommend you search around on youtube for 350Z exhaust sound clips. If you want to be a cheap @ss like some others on this site, then yeah I guess you could cut off your perfectly fine OEM muffler.
Save up a few dollars and get something your car deserves.
You bought a $30,000 sports car not a econo box.
Save up some dough and get a full exhaust system; true dual or y pipe doesn't really matter since they will all yield similar results.

True... I will keep looking around for some nice sounding exhaust... Next time I see one that sounds good, Ill pull him/her over and ask them what kind they have... lol
