No. To be smog legal, the stock cats must stay in place.

Even though the XYZ catalytic converter will likely pass the sniffer test, the law requires stock cats with no exceptions.

This applies with any and all aftermarket catalytic converters.

Sorry there are 40 pages and I didn't feel like reading them all to see if these questions had answers in those pages.

Will the xyz fit my 07 HR?
Will it mate up to the exotic speed high flow cats?
Will it mate up to the exotic speed R1-T exhaust? (Single entry-dual out)

If that exhaust connects to the stock Y-pipe, YES.

How much for XYZ pipe shipped to Belfast UK for 2008 HR 350z.

Also can this be paired with the stock cat back?

Many thanks, Chris

So I have a nismo exhaust with Berk Test pipes, non reso. If I add the xyz pipe and the resonator will that take away the rasp that im getting at 2.8K Rpms?

Also what about drone, will it take any of the drone away?

When we had the Z lifted and in gear running through first, it looked like there was massive vibration coming from the end of the Nismo ypipe where it connects to the midpipe. Could adding that 3" resonator after the xyz pipe take away that vibration which is causing the rasp?

I can hear the rattle/rasp coming from inside the car but nothing is heard on the outside.

Thanks for the help

It certaintly reduces rasp but the XYZ has no effect up or down on drone.

Are you getting drone with your nismo? If its really a vibration, the XYZ may be able to help.

Only getting the drone because of the test pipes. But the drone is doable. its the rasp/rattle that is killing the inside of my HR Z. My trusted guy that was looking at the car underneath when I was driving told me he could see the point between the end of ypipe and beginning of midpipe vibrating. Its because of the mass amounts of air flow trying to go through that small opening. Ive had people at muffler shops tell me that a resonator will help but I dont want to spend more money on trying to find this problem, I just want a solution. But the rasp comes in at 2.8K RPMS every time in 4 out of the 6 gears. What are your thoughts?

Motordyne,
What's the backorder time on the XYZ pipes? I ordered a set a week ago from Riverside Infiniti, and they had some trouble getting in touch with the shop.
Thanks

i have a little rasp with berk test pipes and nismo cat back using a motordyne xyz w resonator but only from 3.5k to about 4k, nice deep sound besides that spot...not nearly as bad as when the nismo y pipe was on though, it was always raspy then...

I may be selling my xyz soon due to parting out ...

I really honestly just like the stock exhaust look... I just detatched my muffler and put spacers and the sounds is aggressive enough... and the best part was that it was for free. Here's a picture with only one spacer ( this is while I was installing it) http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._6943703_n.jpg

Here's a picture of stock exhaust with the spacers... No change at all with exterior look ( dont mind the riced out z.. it was at a car show) http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._3105129_n.jpg

Oh yeah! Here's a video! I took it on my phone and the sound quality sucks but it still gives it justice... <object width="176" height="144" ><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="movie" value="http://www.facebook.com/v/1545890973447" /><embed src="http://www.facebook.com/v/1545890973447" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="176" height="144"></embed></object>

Oh my oh mai! Got my Motordyne XYZ/resonator in the mail today. Just got done putting it on and test driving it. All I can say is my car sounds like sweet sexz now.

The rasp from the test pipes.....GONE

Rattling...........GONE

The overall nismo vq sound still sounds the same but with a deeper idle tone. The resonator has toned down the loudness from the test pipes as well but is still loud, especially at WOT.

Still pulls like a mothaf*cking beast with my Osiris tune and Got a free motordyne hat for being a badass too. Thanks MD

FWIW, my set up is Nismo Exhaust on 2007 HR 350z 6spd, Berk Non Reso test pipes, and Osiris Tune. Sounds awesome now.

Thanks MD
