Exclamation Mrev bolt ons vs 06 stock collecter w/bolt ons

Well i would like the thoughts of others on here about this subject.
i did searches and i found some info
but not enough

this initially started my thinking

http://g35driver.com/forums/tuner-dy...k-vs-mrev.html

As i stroll around the forums i have notice that headers dont make a difference with the mrev

however in the post above both untuned he makes more power up top with headers on. and makes up the power threw out the powerband that the mrev makes.

IS THE MREV AT A DISSAVANAGE WITH HEADERS OR ANYOTHER BOLT ON?

mrev2 with other boltons has proven to make no difference on the street tests, if anything it is slowing plenty of people down lol

i think the spacer is the only part that makes a difference on a spacer and mrev2 combo for the revup

Have you seen any street tests (or threads on the subject) with the MREV2?

I've seen the MREV2 dynod on stock cars and fully modified cars and the gains have always been the same.

If you don't mind me asking what kind of gains can we expect from the MREV2 with Spacer?

Anyone have dyno sheets of a before and after?

There are numerous independant pre/post dyno plots posted here and on G35driver.

My Original question:
Does mrev restrict top end horsepower when adding more bolt - ons
????
Does the 06 lower collecter better for headers and exhaust
maybe even cams.

Has anyone seen dynos with bolt ons with an 06 lower collecter.

No.
In fact there are many serious NA builds that use the MREV2 or even the stock non-revup lower collector. See the NA build section for more info.

I've also seen a lot of dynos of 06 collectors with bolt ons but I don't have any to post.

There are many posted in this forum. They should be available with a search.

we actually performed the street tests with it and really didnt notice anything different, if anything the regular revup collector had better topend.

Well, there's your "independent" test

GrayG35, do you realize the number of variables you have introduced in your tests? About the only constant is the ambient temp, humidity, and elevation. You have different cars and different drivers.....the two biggest variables in your test! Put the same car on the dyno w/ and w/o the MREV, then post your results.

^that really is the only way to really know.

If you were an expert driver and you took measures to do a well controlled test (eliminate many of the variables) that would be good too, but there is a lot that can affect the results of a simple street test.

Bottom line is the dyno is the best, and easiest, tool to make such a comparative measurement. ...even then you still need to be carefull to flush out the many variables on the dyno.

Even the mood of the ECU can have a major impact on dyno results. The ECU likes to move spark timing, cams, A/F and other variables around all the time.

It is normal to expect that the same mod will have varying results on different cars but when there is a large database of independant dyno tests that show the same general results over and over, you can put a high degree of confidence in thoes results being repeatable on any other VQ.

There are occasionally outliers, but overall:
The numerous posted test results of the original MREV kit were positive and consistant.
The numerous posted test results of the MREV+ kit were positive and consistant.
The numerous posted test results of the MREV2 kit have also been positive and consistant.

Seriously, there have been so many independant dynos of all three versions that there isn't much to expect other than a reliable net positive gain.

well we just started trying to test the difference in mrev2 vs stock after seeing the thread started by another member on g35driver.com and it seems to be true, although this has come to bother me enough that i would like to test this out on a dyno to know for myself.
