Default 07 Z - A few mods...now what??

Greetings guys and thanks in advance for some helpful advice to someone new to the forum (heck I'm even new to import cars)!!

I've got an 07 350Z automatic and have made a few basic mods: Fujita dual air intake, Stillen cat back exhaust, Stillen hi-flow cats. I like the sound, but I'm afraid that without some manner of ECU re-flash or Engine Mgmt System I've gained little (if any) performance.

Other than trade for a 6-speed, what would you guys suggest?

Thanks!
ZZR

I'd trade it in for a 6-speed.

-Technosquare or Cobb tune
-perhaps a 3.9 or 4.10 final drive
-xyz pipe from motordyne

In riviera beach there is a great shop, japtrix.

Set an appointment and do a baseline dyno. Discuss various
ECU options w Roger. Get out credit card. wince. wait a couple
days/weeks. return to japtrix. install chosen ecu solution.
re-dyno.

step 1 complete.

what do you want to do w the car in general?

Thanks...I'll check em out.

Am I correct that there isn't a U-Chip or "piggy back" type system that can be tuned for the 07's, yet? Looks like everything I see is for Zs thru 06.

I think you're limited to flashing the ecu... i.e. sending it off
to technosquare or uprev etc. with your mods listed. I still
believe its worth dynoing to understand your gains.

And OP your thoughts on the matter on somewhat correct and in order to get the most out of your mods you will need a reflash either from technosquare or CObb as said before. I'd also recommend stillen headers and if you could posssibly switch out the fujita intakes as i've read they actualyl produce negative gains. Happy modding and I hope all goes well.

The stock system with K&N's is a good bang for the buck investment. Fujitas were the 1st made for the HR, that company just cashed in on everyone's impatience for an upgrade.

BTW I almost fell for for it too

Do the auto 2007s have the HR motor? If so, get a 3.9 rear end with a reflash so you can rev to 8000 rpm and have much shorter gears. That'd be a sweet NA setup.

Apparently I have to also get a new LSD cause i have a auto, I can't just swap in the 3.9 or 4.083 final drive. Because of this I, I don't really want to do this. I have read nothign but good things but I also do a lot of freeway driving and I can't really sacrifice freeway driving and I also have one less gear than everyone else. Plus I have no want for it at the moment simply cause the way my car pulls satisfy's me. Now if I could get a ride in a Z that did have it then I woudl most likely order the 3.9s the next day

Thanks for all the input. Sounds like Technosquare (and maybe Stillen headers) are in my very near future.

Quick questions about the headers...does it matter if I do them before or after the re-flash? How hard of an install are headers (ie: how many hours should a shop charge)?

I'm thinking: do the headers, get a dyno run for a baseline and then re-flash...but I've been wrong before!!

Thanks again for the advice,

ZZR
