i talked to mike over at tanabe this afternoon, and learned a few interesting things! first off, iv been runnig the tanabe super racing madailion exhaust on my Z since even before the borla was released! i love the sound, but when i dynoed i rolled a 227whp! i figured it was the dyno, since i dont have access to a dyno jet dyno. (mine was similar to a mustang dyno.) after reading about a few other members complaining about this exhaust the last few days, i decided to look into this further. come to find out tanabe "openly" admits to accidentaly releasing the WRONG exhaust!!!! mike told me that the first batch of exhausts released were JDM exhausts!! he went on to explain that, "in japan, they have strict emissions laws" so the exhaust contained 2 pre silencer, one per tip, just before the cans. he then explained that these were NOT intended for the US market! ours were to have NO pre silencers!! thus making up the lost power! he then told me that tanabe was willing to send me the US spec exhaust (without the mid pipe because they are the same ) at their expence!! all i needed to do was fax them a copy of my purchas order, and he called me back to let me know it had shipped TODAY! and i should expext to see it next week! when i asked if i was to send my JDM exhaust back.....he told me to keep it, and APPOLIGIZED for my inconvience!!!! i have NEVER seen customer service like this!!!!! he also asked me to post here to let ALL the JDM spec madalion owners know to contact him, so he can correct this error! there were only a dozen or so sold before they cought the mistake, but what if this affects you???? i left his contact info at work, but first thing in the morning i will post it in this thread! hope this helps!!! now i need to decide if im going to install the injen ses i ordered 2 days ago, or the US spec tanabe??? shoot out anyone????
